Mallami Babatunde Azeez left the Oduduwa University Ipetumodu to pursue is goals as a producer and a singer. He is also one of those who got into music at a very young age, at age 6.
I used to sing about my crush in my class at the back of the house after school every day. That was when I knew I wanted to do this! My Family has always been aware of how much my love for music is and they’ve always shown support for me in whatever it is I do in my career.
His first official single was back in 2011, Fly Away ft Ichaba. According to him,
I don’t have a role model, I’m just living me but I appreciate how WizKid is really breaking boundaries, if WizKid can do it then I believe I can do it better than he did but it’s just a matter of time, serious orientation and God’s grace but I know I have a lot more to offer by learning from him and a few more acts in the industry both home and away.
His celebrity crush still remains NINIOLA and his dream collaboration would be Timberland and Kanye West. When asked about his current stance on the state of the music industry in Nigeria and also a word to the artistes at the top of the food chain. He said,
I feel a lot need to change here, a lot of things are being overlooked presently especially Artist’s Royalty Payments! How do you expect an underground artist to rise without paying for what he’s offering?! You can’t be in a profession and not make money when you’re spending heavily on it. It’s just so unfair. Establishing this Artist Royalty Payments will change a lot in this industry and make artists rise to fame even faster! So many other things are definitely wrong but the list goes on and on. A word to the artistes at the top
Stay Blessed and I hope to work with your great minds soon because I believe together we’ll surely make things work out fine that will make us live forever even while we’re gone so keep working and breaking boundaries! God Bless Us, God Bless Music.
